Welcome to your class blog. Here you will find information you will need to start your reading and writing assignments for this course. Most of what you need is located in the right and left hand columns of this page. In the "Unit Assignments" folder there are links to the units of study we will pursue this year as well as information on the semester projects. Below this is the "Categories" folder which is where you will be posting drafts of your writing and making comments on your classmates' work.
The Honors students will cover fewer units than the AP students. The additional AP units are indicated with the notation "AP." In addition, the AP students are required to study several units during the summer. Each unit assignment provides a link to the syllabus for the study material and the basic homework assignments scheduled for the class. The due dates given with each syllabus are tentative and may change depending on the progress the class is making with the material. There may be additional assignments scheduled during the quarter which are not listed here.
In the left hand column you will find important information about the class policies, expectations, and links to helpful Internet sites.
AP Biology Summer Schedule: You are required to complete the summer assignments by the posted due dates in order to continue as an AP student in the fall. We will not meet as a class during the summer. However, I do expect that you will make a point of communicating with me via email and the class blog as you work on these assignments. Don't hesitate to email any questions you might have regarding this material; your questions may be of help to your classmates. The readings cover a good deal more material than we will. So be sure that you use the syllabi as a study guide. You can expect to take a written test on this material within the first few weeks of the school year. The syllabi for the summer study program will be posted by the 15th of June. Expect to do 4 to 5 of these summer study units.
